Nancy Hands Bar & Restaurant
Project type
Supply, Manufacture & Fitting
A few years ago, we had the privilege of undertaking the design and restoration of Nancy Hands Bar & Restaurant, a cherished traditional Irish bar nestled in the vibrant neighbourhood of Stoneybatter, Dublin 8. Collaborating closely with the owner, we meticulously restored this iconic establishment, infusing it with our expertise in design and a deep appreciation for its cultural significance, resulting in a space that beautifully captures the essence of Irish tradition.
"Nancy Hands Bar & Restaurants great name was synonymous with the Public House era in Dublin towards the end the 18th century. The legendry name adorns the ornate dome window and copper frieze of this unique Public House. The interior features authentic Victorian Bar and original staircase from Trinity College, trodden by Michael Caine featured in the film ‘Educating Rita’ and a collection of rare and beautiful Guinntiques describing a lifetime of Guinness advertising."
We were engaged by the owner to deliver a combined design effort and restoration of traditional Irish pub situated close to Dublin’s Phoenix Park, the National Museum at Collins Barracks, and a short stroll from Heuston Station.
The collaborative design and restorative works was carried out by Reclaimed Wood's director, Dean Duncan.
